Building Your Confidence Through Singing

Updated: Jul 27

Singing is a great way to build confidence in both children and adults. Most of us don't actually realize that confidence is a skill and that just like any other skill, it can be improved and even mastered. So if you feel like you’re lacking in confidence now, please don't think that you’re going to feel this way for the rest of your life. I was a very shy kid and lacked confidence and self-esteem for more than half of my life, so believe me I know what it feels like.

Taking Vocal Lessons as an adult will not only make you a better singer, it will have positive effects and increase your confidence in every other area of your life too!

1. PUBLIC SPEAKING

Voice Building will help you become a more confident public speaker. Through simple vocal exercises and singing songs you love to sing, you will learn to strengthen your vocal instrument and use your voice with power and confidence. With greater confidence, you’ll feel more comfortable speaking in public and interacting with your audience with ease.

2. JOB INTERVIEWS

Voice lessons can also benefit you is a job interview. Job interviews can produce a lot of stress and anxiety. But with greater confidence, you’ll be able to just be yourself, answer questions clearly, and allow the best of you to shine during the job interview.

Strengthening your vocal instrument will help you develop a speaking voice that has a richer, more resonant and more beautiful sound. The Breathing Technique taught during our lessons can also help you relax during an interview. When you feel more relaxed, it’s easier to express yourself with confidence. Of course, gaining confidence through Voice Building Lessons may not provide the answers to an interviewer’s questions, but it, most certainly, can help you communicate your answers better.

3. PERFORMING

Vocal Coaching Lessons will also help you become a more confident performer. Whether you’re singing on stage or performing in another way, singing can help you become more confident sharing your talents, thoughts, opinions ... in front of others.

By taking lessons, you will get weekly practice with singing in front of another person and through experience, you will soon learn that singing and performing in front of others isn’t always what you imagine it might be and doesn't have to be scary or even intimidating.

I always welcome adults and kids to give lessons a try. It doesn't matter if you’re a complete beginner or an experienced performer, after only a few lessons you’ll be surprised at what you can learn and how fast you confidence grows.
